Head Trader and Macro Analyst

Saad Filali

Mathematician turned macro strategist and trader, Saad is a former M&A and equity strat/sales analyst in European bulge bracket banks (Rabobank, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs).

Saad was going to take the traditional M&A to private equity route until a colleague suggested he read the Market Wizards series.

Striving to emulate the macro champions of old - Ray Dalio, Tudor, Kovner and O’Shea - he embarked on his trading journey.

He ultimately left M&A behind to join Goldman Sachs equity team in Paris before starting the Fiat Elpis fund with a few of his followers from financial media

Assistant Trader

Nigel Ng

A recent double degree graduate in Economics/Business from NUS, Nigel started out as an early client of the fund.

He quickly took on an analyst capacity within the fund before Saad took him under his wing, stepping up to become a full fledged member of the team through experience and self-learning. Prior to this he was an FX/FX Derivatives analyst at a Singaporean bank.

Nigel has topped various trading, asset management and stock pitch competitions. He also writes a regular macro newsletter discussing market narratives and sharing trading ideas.

Today, he handles most of the positioning analysis across asset classes and instruments that we trade on a daily basis.
